Former Vice President Joe Biden built on his commanding lead for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination overwhelmingly beating Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in the Arizona, Florida, and Illinois primaries. With 1,991 delegates needed to clinch the nomination, Vice President Biden currently leads with 1,217, followed by Sen. Sanders who sits at 914.

Joe Biden

“Biden Plans Show How Party’s Center Has Shifted Left,” by WSJ’s Jacob Schlesinger: “On taxes, health care, climate change and labor rights, Mr. Biden proposes a significantly bigger government role than Hillary Clinton did during her 2016 presidential bid and what the Obama-Biden ticket advocated during their two White House campaigns. … Mr. Biden proposes tax and spending increases equivalent to 1.5% of U.S. gross domestic product, more than double the level Mrs. Clinton advocated four years ago.”

Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders’ proposed tax hikes would cost a historic 23 trillion, according to a new analysis.

And now it’s just a two-man race. Literally.

Tulsi Gabbard

The Democratic primary shrunk to a one-on-one contest Thursday, when Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii ended her campaign. It came as a surprise to many Democrats, not because Gabbard was a factor in the race, but because she had previously planned to run all the way through the Democratic National Convention and because she was endorsing Joe Biden.
