Dear Partners and Friends,
I wanted to let you know that Ernie Pomerleau, a distinguished Board Member of Policy and Taxation Group for over 20 years, will be retiring from the Board.
Ernie was one of our earliest supporters and one our first Board members. I want to personally thank Ernie for all his support, tireless work, and insights over the many years in our mission to help family offices, successful families, and family-owned businesses.
As you may know, Ernie is President of Pomerleau Real Estate in Burlington, Vt., and as a family-owned business operating for more than 70 years he knows the challenges and issues facing family businesses across America.
Ernie’s work with PATG (now called Family Enterprise USA Action) is just a small part of his exceptional background and experience. Among Ernie’s many honors and accomplishments, he is on the Government Affairs Board of the Int’l Council of Shopping Center, Eastern Division, he is the Executive Committee Treasurer of the Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation, a Trustee of St. Michael’s College, an Honorary Consulate of France to Vermont, and a Board Member of Shelburne Farm. Ernie has served on over 20 nonprofit agency boards, along with several Bank boards, and chaired the Boston Federal Reserve Business Advisory board.
Ernie has also chaired Republican Governors committee on Climate Change and received over a dozen community awards for engagement in local economy and non-profit support.
We thank Ernie for his wisdom and many years on the PATG Board, and we know he will greatly enjoy spending more time in Burlington with his wife Dee and daughter, Jessica, and will continue his racing Etchell sail boats and teaching Tai Chi.
All the best Ernie and thank you for everything you’ve done for Policy and Taxation Group!
Sincerely,
Pat Soldano
President

We hope you've enjoyed this article. While you're here, we have a small favor to ask...
As we prepare for what promises to be a pivotal year for America, we're asking you to consider becoming a member.
The need for fact-based reporting of issues important to family owned businesses and protecting a lifetime of savings has never been greater. Now more than ever, successful families and family owned businesses are under fire. That's why Family Enterprise USA is passionately working to increase the awareness of issues important to family owned businesses built on hard work, while continuing to strengthen our presence on Capitol Hill. The issues we fight for or against with Congress in Washington DC include high income tax rates, possible elimination of valuation discounts, increase in capital gains tax, enactment of a wealth tax, and the continued burden of the gift tax, estate tax and generation skipping tax.
Family Enterprise USA promotes generationally owned family business creation, growth, viability, and sustainability by advocating for family businesses and their lifetime of savings with Congress in Washington DC. Since 2007, Family Enterprise USA has represented and celebrated all sizes, professions and industries of family-owned enterprises and multi-generational employers. It is a bi-partisan 501.c3 organization. Family foundations can donate.
