19 Women Named Founding Members of Women’s Business Owners Group, Addressing Challenges Women in Business Face
The Group is Part of Initiative from Family Enterprise USA, Advocates for Family-Owned Businesses
The Women’s Business Owners Group has named 19 women business owners as its Founding Members, it was announced here today.
Women’s Business Owners Group (The Group), founded by Family Enterprise USA (FEUSA), is a coalition dedicated to highlighting and addressing the unique challenges faced by women-owned businesses in today’s economy. Women-owned businesses employ over 12.2 million employees nationwide, according to recent research from Wells Fargo.
The Founding Members of The Group come from a variety of national industries and are either Chief Executives Officers or Senior Executives at their companies.
The Founding Members consist of Nikki Ong of Slick Marketers, Junette McCarthy of MWM Planner, Cheryl Osborn of Casco Contractors, Dr. Allie Taylor of Conveyance Solutions, Sherri Bovino of Global, a 1st Flagship Company, Paige Kavooras of Global, a 1st Flagship Company, Alysha Loumakis-Calderon of ISYS Solutions Inc., Bridget Herdman of Herdman Architecture + Design, Inc., and Angela B. Simmons of ABS Legacy Partners LLC.
In addition, the Founding Members also consist of Casey Thurston of Interstate Specialty Products, Jaclyn Skagerlind of Interstate Specialty Products, Deanna (Viele) Bui of Viele & Sons, Kathy Viele of Viele & Sons, Rosana Privitera Biondo of Mark One Electric., Inc., Casey Roscoe of Gerking Ranch, Nella Webster of Ocean Heights Advisors, Meghan Hanna of Kamello, Cindy Ayloush of Hydraflow, and Sasha Ayloush of Hydraflow.
The Group’s mission is to amplify the voices of women entrepreneurs, foster collaboration, and advocate for policies that promote equity in business with Members of Congress in Washington, D.C.
In November, The Group held a meeting where Congressional House Member Rep. J. Luis Correa (D-CA) and a staff member from Rep. Derek Tran (D-CA) office attended and heard the challenges women business owners face today.
The meeting kicked off with Alysha Loumakis-Calderon, President and Chief Executive Officer, ISYS Solutions, Inc., welcoming Rep. Correa, who attended in person, and Rep. Tran’s staff attendee, thanking them both for participating in the growing organization.
Women-owned businesses represent nearly 40 percent of all U.S. businesses, or over 14 million businesses in total, and account for $2.7 trillion in revenue, according to Wells Fargo research.
“We’re excited to welcome these women business owners as our Founding Members,” said Pat Soldano, President of Family Enterprise USA. “The Group’s mission is to amplify the voices of women entrepreneurs, foster collaboration, and advocate for policies that promote equity in business,” she said. “These founders will help get our message out and further educate and inform Congress on the importance of women-owned businesses and to work with the bipartisan Congressional Family Business Caucus in Washington, D.C.”
