Capitol Hill Visits, Congressional Caucus Get Private Company Director Spotlight

Our recent series of successful Capitol Hill visits caught the attention of Private Company Director Magazine earlier this month.

The family business-based publication featured the 33 family business Capitol Hill meetings organized and sponsored by Family Enterprise USA and Policy and Taxation Group. The meetings were held in conjunction with the Private Company Governance Summit in Washington, D.C. last month. The publication focused on the many family business attendees meeting with congressional representatives, and their staff, to discuss critical issues facing family businesses. In addition, a key goal was to advance the creation of a new Family Business Congressional Caucus.

The Hill visits were led by Pat Soldano, president of Family Enterprise USA. Many of the discussions centered on the new proposed caucus, as well as support for more business-friendly regulation and taxation. Another key element, the article cited, was to connect members of Congress with family businesses in their districts or home states to create dialogue and a productive exchange of ideas.
