Pat Soldano spent over 30 years providing family office services as owner of Cymric Family Office Services, and then as Managing Director of Western Region for GenSpring for 5 years and then a Family Office Consultant.

Currently she is President of Family Enterprise USA; its mission is to promote the growth of generational owned family businesses in the US, and President of Policy and Taxation Group, which she formed in 1995, that works to reduce onerous tax and economic policies for successful families, family offices and family business.

Russ Sullivan

Russ Sullivan is chair of the National Tax Policy Group at lobbying and law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, providing unparalleled insight into the legislative and regulatory risks and opportunities related to tax policy. Russ is a Capitol Hill veteran who spent 14 years with the Senate Finance Committee, including nine as staff director. He leverages his vast network and industry expertise to devise and execute complex strategies for both nonprofit and for-profit clients on a broad range of issues, including health care, pension planning, trade, economic development and tax policy.

During his time at the Senate Finance Committee, Russ worked directly on policy matters related to the estate tax. He served as chief tax counsel under Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) when the committee passed legislation repealing the estate tax in 2001. A decade later, as committee staff director, Russ worked with a bipartisan group of senators to make a reduction in the estate tax rate and an increase in the exemption amount permanent.

Over his career on Capitol Hill, Russ developed an extensive network, managing over 600 staff members and policy professionals – many of whom currently serve in senior government positions.

At Brownstein, Russ has represented a number of taxpayers who operate family-owned businesses and has advanced their interests during critical times. For example, as policy debates unfolded over the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017, he worked on behalf of numerous clients to develop a robust 20% deduction for pass-through businesses to lower the effective income tax rate on entrepreneurs, farmers and ranchers, and family-owned enterprises.

Russ is passionate about fostering at-risk youth, serving as the legal or designated guardian for 22 teenagers over the past two decades. He has continually fought for an increase in the adoption tax credit.

Aubrey has been actively involved in the formation of numerous private-sector coalitions to reduce federal tax burdens and mitigate the impact of regulations in the areas of health benefits, financial services, environment, transportation and trade.

Mark Warren is a well-respected professional on the Hill, having spent more than two decades serving as congressional tax counsel spanning four administrations. Most recently, Mark served as chief tax counsel to the Senate Finance Committee, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of Chairman Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) tax agenda, including advising on all aspects of federal tax, retirement, pensions and tax-administration policy. He also managed the committee’s COVID-19 tax and pension relief legislation, including the historic Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and the COVID-19 tax relief included the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021.

Skip Fox is a retired McGuire Woods LLP partner. While at McGuireWoods, Skip served as chair of the firm’s Tax and Employee Benefits Department and Private Wealth Services Group. Skip was on the faculty of the American Bankers Association’s National Trust Schools from 1987 to 2021. He was an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law from 1983 to 2005 and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia School of Law from 2006 to 2021. Prior to retirement, Skip spoke extensively around the country on estate planning topics and was the co-presenter for over twenty years of the monthly teleconference series on estate planning and fiduciary law issues sponsored by the American Bankers Association. Skip has contributed articles to numerous publications and is the author or co-author of seven books on estate planning topics.

He has written seven books, has taught at UCLA Extension for over 20 years, and is a regular leadership guest lecturer at such institutions as the University of Southern California and California State University.

He was Executive Vice President and Board Member at two of the largest public relations firms in the world, Burson- Marsteller and Grey Advertising’s GCI Group. In addition, he has been a partner and senior leadership executive with automotive, chemical, and energy management consulting firms. He has lived and worked in New York, Singapore, Chicago, and is now based in Los Angeles.

Bob has been an editor, columnist, and publisher and has written for Advertising Age, Time.com, and numerous trade journals. His books on marketing, communications training, and business include Point of You, StoryPilot, SlideStar, and The Fundamentals of Public Relations.
