Brownstein Challenges Colorado Law Prohibiting Medical Debt Reporting

On the heels of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) interpretive rule issued last week explaining that the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) generally preempts state laws related to credit reporting, Brownstein filed a lawsuit on behalf of ACA International challenging Colorado House Bill 23-1126. FCC Proposes Major Changes to Robocall Rules

On Oct. 29, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) unanimously adopted the Improving Verification and Presentation of Caller Identification Information Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“FNPRM”). The FNPRM addresses three main areas: (1) the adoption of a framework to present the caller’s name on consumers’ phones; (2) new regulations of calls originating from other countries; and (3) changes to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) rules, including revocation of consent. UPDATED: Trump-Xi Meeting Results in Trade ‘Truce’

On Nov. 1, the White House released a fact sheet outlining the U.S.-China “trade and economic deal” reached during a long-awaited meeting held between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping last week. TikTok Divestiture Deal Revolves Around IP Considerations
