Transitioning For the Future, Cutting Red Tape Is Key to Success for General Contractors GoodFellow Bros. in New Video by Family Enterprise USA’s Pat Soldano

Training workers and cutting red tape are two key issues of focus for Chad Goodfellow, CEO, Goodfellow Bros., Wenatchee, Wash., in a new Family Enterprise USA video, hosted by Pat Soldano, President of Family Enterprise USA. Goodfellow, interviewed from the 100-year-old company’s Maui office, discusses how the general contracting company grew from its small agriculture roadwork roots to over 300 employees working on government and private sector projects across the Northwest, West, and islands of Hawaii. “Our biggest impediments to growth are permitting issues, especially environmental reviews, both locally and federally,” says Goodfellow in the video. “The other big challenge for us is transitioning ownership to the next generation,” he said. “We are planning for it, but I fear for what happens when transition time comes.”
