Economic-Research-email-header
To help promote family businesses nationally and get legislators to understand how important family businesses are to the national economy, we need to determine the number of jobs they create and people they employ, the GDP they generate, as well as other economic data, and the good they do for this country.

FEUSA is conducting an Economic Research project with seven professors to update the work done in 2003, which determined some of these factors. Professor Joe Astrachan, who along with Ms. Shanker did the original work in 2003 will be part of the team to do this work in 2020. It is critical work that legislators, educators, family business advocates, and others want and need to know.

If you Google “how many family businesses are there in the US”, the 2003 data will come up and it is posted on almost every family business Center website, as well as sited 1350 times in academic work.

So, I am hoping that you agree with me and understand how critical this work is and you will assist with funding to get this work done. The estimated cost is $55,000, and the work will be done by December 31, 2020.

Family Foundations that contribute $10,000 or more to this important project can be featured on the report, which will be distributed nationally through media, universities, think tanks, national legislators, family business Centers, trade associations, virtual presentations to groups interested in family business issues and others.
If you are interested and would like to support the work; please go online to familyenterpiseusa.com and Donate and indicate you want to fund the Economic Research project of 2020!!
