The bipartisan Congressional Family Business Caucus<\/a> has new five major associations joining it in support of America\u2019s largest private employer, family businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n The associations <\/a>are the Associated Equipment Dealers, National Federation of Independent Business, American Farm Bureau Federation, National Restaurant Association, and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America.<\/span><\/p>\n The Congressional Family Business Caucus<\/a>, formed late last year, has held three meetings to date in the U.S. Capitol. Its core mission is to raise awareness on the importance of family businesses to the economy and to address critical issues facing family businesses, from unfair taxation to workplace development to penalizing regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n Family businesses are the largest private employers<\/a> in the country, accounting for 83.3 million jobs, or 59 percent of the country\u2019s private workforce, and contributes $7.7 trillion in GDP annually to the economy, according to research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The four co-chairs of the bipartisan Caucus are Jodey Arrington (R-TX), Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), and Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX)<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span> The addition of these new associations represents a strong cross-section of the U.S. family-owned business workforce, according to Pat Soldano, President, Family Enterprise USA and the Policy and Taxation Group<\/a>, both bipartisan advocates for family business. Both are based here.<\/span><\/p>\n Associated Equipment Dealers has more than 500 dealer members and is an international trade association representing the interests of the equipment industry. It represents companies that sell, rent and service equipment used in many applications, including construction, agriculture, forestry, energy, mining, material handling and industrial production.<\/span><\/p>\n National Federation of Independent Business is the voice of small business, advocating on behalf of America\u2019s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The American Farm Bureau Federation has some 5.9 million member families, consisting of farmers, ranchers, and affiliated farm-based insurance providers.
