The importance of community is the focus of the first video in a new video series<\/a>, \u201cUnsung Heroes: Struggles and Triumphs of Family Businesses<\/a>,\u201d presented by Family Enterprise USA.<\/p>\n

The video series<\/a> tackles critical subject areas affecting America\u2019s largest employer, family businesses<\/a>, and is hosted by Pat Soldano, President, Family Enterprise USA and Policy and Taxation Group.<\/p>\n

The first video<\/a>, titled, \u201cHelping the Community<\/a>,\u201d features a half-dozen family business<\/a> owners and their personal views on the importance of their communities to their business success, and community success.<\/p>\n

Future videos<\/a> in the series tackle such subjects as the environment, taxes<\/a>, the estate tax<\/a>, barriers to success, employees, and workforce development, among just a few.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited by this new video series<\/a> and the topics it tackles,\u201d said Soldano. \u201cResearch shows the survival of America\u2019s local charities is tied directly to the success of the country\u2019s family businesses<\/a>,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd by engaging with the community family businesses also become stronger. Our local charities pay the ultimate price when family enterprises are driven out of business.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is estimated that when it comes to charitable giving family businesses<\/a> give 76 percent of their charitable contributions to local charities, according to recent research conducted by Family Enterprise USA. Family Enterprise USA, based here, is a non-profit, bi-partisan group representing family business<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The series is based on over 16 interviews with family business leaders from across the country and across a wide range of industries, from real estate to roofing and forestry to chemicals.<\/p>\n
