The first 2026 Caucus meeting will be held March 17 on Capitol Hill.<\/a><\/p>\n The Congressional Family Business Caucus<\/a> was first formed in 2023. The Caucus\u2019s mission is to educate and inform legislators on how many jobs family businesses create and how important they are to the economy. Family Enterprise USA\u2019s (FEUSA) is an organizer of the group. In addition, FEUSA created the Women\u2019s Business Owners Group which is instrumental in the process and a supporter of the Caucus.<\/p>\n According to research, America\u2019s family-owned businesses<\/a> contribute $7.7 trillion<\/a> annually to the U.S. gross domestic product, accounting for 83.3 million jobs<\/a>, or 59 percent of the country\u2019s private workforce<\/a>.<\/p>\n Co-Chair Rep. Correa<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Rep. Correa, a past member of the Caucus, has represented California\u2019s 46th congressional district since 2017.<\/a> The district is in Southern California\u2019s Orange County, with the major cities being Anaheim and Santa Ana.<\/p>\n For the 118th Congress, Correa serves on the Committee on Homeland Security, is the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement and is the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust of the Committee on the Judiciary.<\/p>\n \u201cOur economy is driven by family businesses<\/a> whose owners and employees are usually our neighbors. My parents worked hard to give me the opportunity to reach the middle class and starting a family business provides the same possibility to millions of Americans,\u201d Rep. Correa said. \u201cWe need to make sure that family businesses continue to flourish across different industries, and the Family Business Caucus will work to help Main Street entrepreneurs achieve their American Dream.\u201d Co-Chair Rep. Tenney<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Rep. Tenney, a past co-chair of the Caucus, has represented New York\u2019s upstate districts 24 and 22 since being elected in 2016.<\/a> As a freshman member of the 115th Congress, she served on the House Financial Services Committee. She currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.<\/p>\n \u201cFamily-owned businesses<\/a> are the backbone of communities across the country, creating jobs, supporting local economies, and carrying on traditions that span generations. As someone who helped run my family\u2019s business, I understand the unique challenges these businesses face, from rising costs and workforce pressures to complex regulations and tax policy.
