I\u2019ll say it again, our Work is NOT<\/strong> Complete \u2013 The Estate Tax has NOT<\/strong> been repealed.<\/span><\/p>\n

What we saw and heard in President Trump\u2019s State of the Union, in reference to the Death Tax is the core of the challenge we face in solving this problem. <\/span><\/p>\n

Members in Congress and the Senate are not giving this issue the attention \u00a0it deserves. When family businesses are required to pay a 40% tax at the death<\/strong> of the owner jobs are eliminated and the community suffers. \u00a0This is a problem plaguing our family business community.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\u201c\u2026we have<\/b> virtually <\/b>ended the estate tax, or death tax that is \u2014 as it is called, for small businesses, ranches and family farms.\u201d \u2013 President Donald Trump\u2019s State of the Union address on February 5<\/b>th<\/b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While there have been some <\/span>slight<\/span><\/i> improvements, we are by no means there. \u00a0We have a <\/span>long<\/b> way to go before we can claim to have resolved the problem of double taxation on our family businesses. The Death Tax is still alive and <\/span>65% of the people who paid the estate tax in 2017 are <\/b>still<\/b> paying the estate tax today. <\/b>These devastated families and businesses still need to be helped by their President, not left to foot an unnecessary second tax.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at the reality; Family Businesses in the US employ <\/span>65%<\/b> of the workers, <\/span>82 million jobs<\/b>, and continue to be devastated and required to pay a <\/span>40% tax<\/b> on their businesses at the death of the family members; this is <\/span>wrong, unfair and double taxation.<\/b><\/p>\n

Help us right this wrong, DEATH SHOULD NOT BE A TAXABLE EVENT!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
