Family Enterprise USA\u2019s advocacy efforts in 2025 protected family-owned businesses<\/strong> from harmful tax changes and advanced policies that sustain growth across generations. Through our education efforts with Congress, we made the 37%<\/strong> top income tax rate and the 20%<\/strong> Section 199A<\/strong> deduction permanent<\/strong>, increased<\/strong> the estate tax exemption<\/strong> to $15 million<\/strong> per person, and prevented hikes<\/strong> in the capital gains rate<\/strong>. We restored R&D expensing<\/strong> and bonus depreciation<\/strong>, preserved Like-Kind Exchanges<\/strong>, and stopped new wealth tax and surtax proposals<\/strong>. Importantly, valuation discounts<\/strong>, grantor trusts<\/strong>, and the step-up in basis<\/strong>, all vital to family business succession, were safeguarded.<\/strong> These accomplishments reflect the power of a united family owned business voice<\/strong> in Washington and the continued importance of our mission: ensuring fairness, stability, and opportunity for every family owned business in America.<\/p>\n
